Exciting News: Free Resilience to Burnout Sessions for Support Workers in 2025!
As many of you know, I was fortunate to receive a grant earlier this year, which means I can offer my Resilience to Burnout group sessions free of charge to support workers across 2025!
I’m incredibly proud of the program I’ve developed over the past 12-18 months, and being recognised by the Safework & AZ panel has been both surreal and validating. This recognition affirms what I’ve always believed: the helping professions deserve more support, recognition, and professional development opportunities. We also must begin to see burn-out & related issues as workplace hazards & discuss them openly & support ways to mitigate, recognise & heal from them.
The Augusta Zadow Award has provided funding to deliver this to support workers & carers only: predominantly those who work in people’s homes—particularly support workers in disability, mental health, child protection, and aged care. These workers often don’t have access to an office environment, team leaders, or managers are inaccessible & they are neglected when it comes to professional development & team building days. Many are sole traders or work across multiple agencies to earn a sufficient income. As a result, they are more vulnerable to stress, workplace injury, compassion fatigue, and burnout.
In 2025, I aim to change that by providing education, self-care toolkits, and a focus on their needs & wellbeing. This area of work is challenging one, often isolating & an essential public service role, without it we would have no one looking after our loved ones.
If you are a support worker (or a manager of a team of support workers) in disability, mental health, child protection, or aged care, please get in touch via my email to learn about the dates and details of the free Resilience to Burnout sessions available next year, thanks to the Augusta Zadow funding.
Burnout costs businesses significantly, leading to decreased productivity, poorer safety practices, high staff turnover, and increased work cover claims. By offering wellbeing support and training, businesses and agencies can reap numerous benefits, including improved employee engagement, reduced absenteeism, a more stable workforce, and enhanced client safety. When staff are supported and trained in resilience, they are better equipped to perform their roles effectively, reducing the risk of errors or incidents that could compromise client care.
Good news for ALL professionals facing risk of burnout & fatigue:
While this award is providing these sessions for free for support workers, I also offer similar programs for other professionals, including occupational therapists, social workers, police, paramedics, speech pathologists, and team leaders/managers. If you're part of an agency or team that would benefit from this program in 2025, please reach out, and we can arrange a session for your group at an affordable rate.
Addressing staff wellbeing and burnout is not only a business imperative, but an ethical necessity. When employees are supported with the tools and training they need to manage stress and maintain resilience, it ensures their health and safety, improves client care, and promotes a positive work environment. Prioritising staff wellbeing demonstrates a commitment to both the workforce and the clients they serve, ultimately fostering a culture of care, respect, and responsibility.
I’m excited to deliver this valuable training and help as many support workers as possible, making it as accessible as I can across the helping professions. Let's work together to improve wellbeing and resilience in our vital work!
