  • What to Expect:

As a carer, you may face unique challenges when it comes to looking after your own mental and emotional health while caring for others. Without regular training or supervision, it can be hard to find the right tools to help you manage the stress that comes with your role.

This program is here to support you by offering simple, practical tools and education on wellbeing that you can use in your day-to-day life. It’s designed to help you take care of yourself so that you can continue doing the important work you do, while also feeling valued and supported. By focusing on your own health and wellbeing, you’ll not only feel better but also be able to provide even better care for the young people you live with.

The program is designed to help carers understand and manage stress, while also giving you practical tools to look after your own wellbeing as they continue to care for others. The goal is to support carer mental and emotional health by teaching useful strategies based on research.

    Key Features of the Program:

    • Understanding Stress and Burnout: Carers will learn what causes stress in their jobs, such as feeling overloaded, compassion fatigue, and emotional strain from others' trauma. This will help them recognise specific sources of stress, so they can better deal with them.
    • Self-Assessment and Reflection: The program includes simple tools like surveys that help Carers check in on their own wellbeing. This helps them see where they may need more support and track their progress over time.
    • Building Resilience and Self-Care: Carers will learn ways to build emotional strength and take better care of themselves. This includes creating a personalised self-care plan to help manage job stress and stay balanced.
    • Support for Isolated Carers: Many carers feel alone, especially as the work you do is in your own homes without a team or support. The program shows how to build connections with peers and find support networks to feel less isolated and more supported.
    • Promoting Wellbeing: The program encourages carers to take care of themselves and advocate for better support. It highlights the importance of speaking up for the resources needed to reduce stress and burnout.
    • Sharing Knowledge for Greater Impact: As carers learn more about managing stress and building resilience, they are encouraged to share these ideas with others. This helps create a stronger, supportive community.

The overall aim is to help workers stay healthy and resilient while providing the best care for others.
